Ophthalmologist
Howard L. Distelman, MD has joined Middlesex Eye Physicians in September 2024 along with his colleague, Ann M. Carone, OD, as their practice Shoreline Eye Associates becomes part of Middlesex Eye Physicians. He sees patients in our Guilford office.
Dr. Distelman has been practicing Ophthalmology and Ophthalmic surgery on the Shoreline for the past 25 years. He specializes in cataract surgery, including the use of advanced technology lens implants for the correction of astigmatism as well as multifocal intraocular lenses, which may reduce or eliminate the need of glasses after cataract surgery.
Following his undergraduate study at Columbia University, where he majored in biophysics, Dr. Distelman received his medical degree and Ophthalmology training at Downstate Medical Center in New York City. After completing his residency in Ophthalmology, Dr. Distelman went on for fellowship training with the internationally renowned Ophthalmologist, Dr. Seynour Dubroff. There he perfected and performed many of the latest surgical techniques in Ophthalmology, including small incision cataract surgery.
Dr. Distelman currently resides in Madison, Conn., where he lives with his wife.
